Sustainability at the Berlin New Year's Eve Run – take away, sit down and donate

The Berlin New Year's Eve Run sets the right tone for the coming year. Not only in terms of sport, but also in terms of sustainability!

Reusable cups that you can have more of!

This year, we are once again relying entirely on reusable cups. And on you. To help us conserve resources and reduce waste together, you can use your cups multiple times during the event and only return them when you no longer need them. You can return them either at the distribution station or at our mobile return stations. You can't miss them thanks to our white and green signs. Thank you very much for your support!

Toilets – totally eco-friendly!

For the first time, we are using sustainable eco-toilets from Finizio at the Berlin New Year's Eve Run. The dry or separation toilets work with a dry flush and urine separation – completely without water! The collected nutrients are then converted into high-quality super fertiliser by a collection and recycling service. The toilets are hygienic, clean and odourless.

Sustainability also goes through the stomach!

One of the highlights of Berlin's New Year's Eve run is the sweet reward at the finish line – a delicious pancake. To ensure that the leftover pancakes also leave a sweet impression, they are donated to people in need. Sustainability also goes through the stomach. 

And those who enjoy their coffee in reusable cups in the future may end up right where the eco-toilet is waiting – the cycle of life, only this time truly ecological.
